I began working on the idea of online sympto-thermal charting in the spring of 2008.

At the time, my wife Kathryn and I were taking a natural family planning course as part of our preparation for marriage in the Catholic Church. Several of our classmates remarked on their frustration with paper charts, seeking a more automated approach.

I envisioned a secure web-based solution, so I began developing some Ruby code that would eventually evolve into the charting feature. During 2009, I started building the rest of the site around the core charting code that I’d already developed.

I’m building the first version of the site around the NWFS method Kathryn and I learned during our marriage preparation. I may add other methods later.

As of the beginning of 2010, the site is still a work in progress, although you’re encouraged to sign in and use it. My current plan calls for completing the initial set of features before Easter.
